The groundbreaking ceremony, in celebration of the Kennedy Middle School building project, will be on March 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kennedy Middle School.
State, town, and school officials, along with members of the community will meet in the front landing area of the Kennedy main entrance to hear remarks from various project leaders and supporters, a performance by the Kennedy Chorus, and share in the ceremonial groundbreaking commencing the official start of construction activities for the Kennedy Building Project.
Following the main activities, there will be light refreshments in the main lobby of Kennedy where visitors can view renderings of the new school.
The new 182,000-square-foot building will be constructed to the west of the existing building allowing the school to continue to function while construction occurs. Work will continue through the summer, with the final phase expected to wrap up in time for the 2020-2021 school year.
We are excited to get this project underway and share with you the vision for the new school. Many modern features to benefit students have been incorporated into the architectural design. Please note, this event is rain or shine and there will be limited seating for event guests.
